I think Nilay’s article gave teh Gram more credit than it was due. This is obviously a massive backpedal for them as far as using their members’ photos in advertisements, even just on Instagram. They may not have intended to license the photos for use outside of their own app and web portal, but of course they wanted to have a section of “look who took photos of _ product” – and they certainly will do so, even if now it will only show their profile pictures.
