Post comment on The Verge to "Sony NEX-5R review: can the best mirrorless camera get even better?"

Can someone explain to me how exactly these mirrorless cameras are a lot better as “walk around the town” lenses? Not trying to troll or pick a fight…but I’m genuinely curious. When I look at these cameras…sure the body is a lot more compact than DSLRs (I own an XSI), but the lenses are still pretty damn big. It certainly isn’t something that is pocketable?

I’ve been very curious about these cameras, but for me, I just don’t see the big benefit. If I’m going to have to carry a couple of lenses around anyways, I might as well carry my DSLR+lenses. My DSLR body size has never been a big issue (granted, the XSI has a smaller body than some of the full frame DSLR monsters). So I ended up getting the Canon S95 for $180 when it was on sale and that has been a great camera to complement my XSI.

Maybe I’m missing something very obvious, but I’d love to learn more from users of these mirrorless cameras.
