Because I do. Because it’s most comfotable that way. Because I, apparently unlike you, do not need to justify my behavior to a marketing gimmick.

‘Retina’ is meaningless, for the two reasons I listed above. Since you seem to have missed them— A) the math behind Apple’s argument is flawed to begin with, and B) even if it wasn’t, the human eye can perceive detail in methods different from the “pick out a pixel” method.

High-resolution is always better, of course— be that an old phone screen, a contemporary screen, or the 1080p screens that are just hitting the market.
