Apple likes to think that it knows what is best for everyone when it in fact doesn’t. I use my 4.3" phone and my 7" tablet at the same distance because it’s comfortable to hold both devices at that distance. “Retina” is in fact a meaningless term that serves no other purpose than to convince all prospective Apple device buyers that a “retina” screen is the best. Sorry, but other manufacturers have been making “retina” screens that are more “retina” than Apple’s “retina” for over a year now.
It IS different from person to person, and because of this, the whole “retina” nonsense is exactly that, just nonsense.
