I’m surprised people are giving the screen a good rating – I had a go on the Nook HD+ yesterday and was surprised to see how uneven the backlight is. Most devices have an uneven backlight to some extent, but it immediately jumped out at me that the HD+’s screen is significantly darker on the right hand side than on the rest of the screen – unacceptably so.

I thought it might just be that one unit, but you can clearly see from the photos in this article that it’s much darker down the right than the left, which is very distracting when reading.
