Also voting N7. Despite all the complaints of insufficient tablet apps for Android I don’t find wanting for much. The ecosystem has come a long way just in the past year, especially on games. As for productivity I can’t think of much more I’d want than what the Google Apps already cover.
Also, being that there are so many 720P Android phones out there now, the “scale-up” problem to a 720P tablet isn’t even remotely the same thing as the scale-up problem from phone to tablet on iOS. iPad has tablet apps because it needs tablet apps. Android has a lot more flexibility there.
I also have an old iPod Touch and I was originally waiting for an update to that platform or a smaller iPad to upgrade to. I knew those were coming and I got an N7 instead because I discovered I could get everything I wanted on it except for one game (Bookworm, which seems to be long dead in terms of development anyway) and save a pantload of money in the process.
If the day comes when I can get an iPad Mini (new or used) for $200 or thereabouts, then fine, but until then N7 all the way!
