If it’s like the Nexus 4, then Google has misstated the specs for the chipset and antennas in the device.
It’s possible the Nexus 7 uses different hardware for HSPA+ though.
We won’t really know for sure until someone does a teardown or puts in a T-Mobile SIM.
David, can I buy and mail you a T-Mobile SIM? You can activate it on a prepaid plan.
