Most reviews were done before release date so before the update rolled out. I think it doesn’t even rolled out to every device automatically yet.
You can blame Microsoft for not shipping the Surface with these updates included (even Windows RT and 15 built-in apps got major updates at the release).

But now it works pretty well.
