It’s not Microsoft neutering their service. They’ll provide the functionality to basic formatting and editing, just like on Windows Phone. It’s enough, and it works well. Why would you want full Office on a phone or a tablet? Even on my Surface, I don’t really care that Office is built in. Yea, it’s nice to be able to do some work without having to carry my laptop around, but I still wish there where toned-down, Metro versions of the Office suite available. I love OneNote for Windows 8, and like I’ve commented before, I can’t wait for Metro versions of other Office applications to come out.
