It’s usable, but far from optimal. Using anything in the traditional Windows desktop mode is a bear, especially if touch is involved. Try copying a set of files from folder to another via Explorer using strictly touch — yeah.
Check out OneNote on the MS Store, it’s the only one of the Office apps to be translated to the Modern UI style (Metro). It properly utilizes touch and has a UI designed for it. If the other Office apps can do that, I’ll be really excited.
Not to say it’s unusable, and I would rather use the current Office RT over Pages on my iPad because of the Type Cover. The point is that sticking Windows as most people know it on a touch-based device is NOT the answer.
