To be fair, the Nexus 7 at least supported USB-host as long as you had a ($2 for mine) adapter cable from micro-USB to USB A jack. With that, keyboard and mouse work fine, or alternatively you can pair a bluetooth keyboard (the only Apple device I’ve ever bought new was one of their rather well-built keyboards, for basically this purpose). I’d be truly shocked if the Nexus 10 wasn’t the same, especially since USB-host was touted as an actual mainline Android feature (I think as of 4.1, but it might’ve been 4.0).
Now, don’t get me wrong, the Surface keyboards are way better integrated. But you definitely have the option to use mouse and (especially) keyboard with the Nexus devices.
