That’s if you’re doing it wrong. Epub to mobi or vice versa is nearly flawless so they’re based on a fluid format and are nearly interchangeable with one another. PDFs on the hand, never convert properly due to the differences inherent in the format designed (fixed layout).

I’ve never had a bad experience with epub/mobi conversions and I don’t bother converting PDFs to mobi/epub because they’re not meant to be “instantly converted” without involving some major reformatting hassle.
