I have to wonder why it’s become so popular. I really like the new branding and wanted to love the product, but it was god awful in practice. The web interface is horrendous and doesn’t remember any settings you’ve changed after you’ve left. The app itself is buggy and the way it handles pictures/screen orientation is bad (at least on iOS). There’s also no way to edit item titles. How can you not have that?! It’s like the most basic functionality in a read later service!
I gave it about a month and a half and then trashed it after the app started crashing every time I opened it. I don’t like everything about Instapaper, but I guess you get what you pay for. It also remains to be seen how Pocket plans to monetize.
