So… I jumped to my Mac to watch this video just to see what you guys are talking about regarding ads and flash.

WOW.

I had no idea The Verge ran video ads. I’ve been watching videos on this site for quite a while, but always on iOS (iPad and iPhone). On iOS, there are no video ads. The video just plays. And boy does it play smoothly. The video quality on my Mac (on the same Wi-Fi network as my iOS devices) was awful. The video was a bit stuttery in places and kept jumping between multiple video qualities. On iOS, the video plays smoothly from start to finish at high quality. And on my Mac, I have to deal with a shitty flash video player. Is this a joke? The iOS video player blows this out of the water.

Plus, text and whatnot looks like ass on a non-retina screen, so I’ll be sticking with my iPad for The Verge from now on. It’s a vastly superior experience versus using a PC. I can’t imagine how my Android-toting brethren put up with this. :(
