I’m in the market for a replacement for my wife’s old Canon compact which I dropped on a museum floor. I just read tons of customer reviews on Amazon and it looks like all of the recent Canon compacts have the same problem with lots of complaints about the lenses getting stuck partially extended. However, Canon has not acknowledged the defect in the other models and there were complaints that Canon even accused the owners of droppng the cameras and refused to fix them.
