Actually because historically we have been able to buy a computer and upgrade it at our discretion. The carriers and OEM’s swore we couldn’t handle that sort of power and that the network was to fragile to be trusted to non blessed OS’s .
It isn’t Apple pushing this it is an assumed right that still doesn’t make sense to many consumers. If people could upgrade when they wanted to then this wouldn’t be an issue whatsoever.
