No not quite. The problem occurs because Apple, & they especially are guilty of this since around 91-92, takes open source & sharware (when it was widely available), makes a sometimes small or minute change then goes & patents it claiming they “invented this wonderful new tech.” What a bunch of horseshit!
Go ahead & go to Wikipedia & try to prove me wrong. I’ve worked with open source & shareware for 2 decades & have watched Apple do this garbage. Their entire portfolio of online tech is stolen from open source. Look at the building blocks behind ‘their cutting edge tech’
& try to tell me I’m wrong. But you can’t.
That in a nutshell is one of the single biggest issues those of us who actually use & contribute to Linux/open source have with Apple & continue to have. They can design all the supposed great hardware they want. Just quit friggin stealing, yes I said STEALING, ideas from open source & then monotizing & patenting it like you are gifting the world with your magic.
