I’m starting to get it now. It’s an Apple TV competitor that connects to all of Xbox Live’s music and video services for people who don’t play video games and therefore don’t want to buy an Xbox 360. You can control it with SmartGlass on a real tablet or buy the optional Wii-U style dummy tablet for the same experience if you don’t own a compatible tablet already.
It makes a little more sense now, but I remain skeptical.
