Ah yes, but Porsche wasn’t responsible for the phone, it was Porsche Design, a separate company (still very much Porsche of course) that is devoted to making well designed products.
Most products were designed by F.A. Porsche himself, and ranged from sunglasses to watches to light fixtures like the Kandido which is a pretty famous piece of industrial design:
You may not like the look of the Porsche cars, but they are pretty good at designing other products. ;)
