Wow. Very informative post, I learnt a lot, such as:

• People only prefer laptops because of easy touch typing.
• PCs are dying. Stagnating sales, maybe. Dying?
• A PC is a power user tool that has many maintenance headaches. (just as a side note, I can’t remember the last time I did “maintenance” on my PC)
• A PC is a household appliance
• Microsoft will eventually ditch the desktop. Naturally, they’d be totally fine with developers developing their tablet apps in Linux or something.

Perhaps you need to actually think about the capabilities of a PC and the capabilities of a tablet, and keep a realistic view of computing’s future.
