But this is a major upgrade. Apple hasn’t had a major upgrade in 10 years.
Apple’s policy (of recent years) is to release a minor upgrade every year for 20 bucks. Microsoft releases major upgrades every 3 to 5 years for 100 bucks. If one takes every upgrade, both policies add up to about the same price over a given number of years. (OK, you say Windows 7 was a “minor” upgrade, but most folks that upgraded to it came from XP, not Vista. Those that were running Vista SP1 could easily skip Windows 7, and many did.)
