I still can’t believe this story has been picked up by so many blogs. I thought these covers were pretty well known. I turned them into screensavers for my kindle (which was awesomely mentioned in the Atlantic piece, even if they did misspell my name) almost a year and a half ago!

And if you are interested in these, there’s a fairly crazy fellow working on recreating the magazine covers from scratch in high res with more lifelike graphics. Not sure I agree with all of his stylistic choices, but it’s pretty amazing regardless.
