Ask people on the street about “Windows Vista”, it has the same brand recognition as Hiroshima or Chernobyl – some kind of hideous nuclear explosion, of everything going wrong.

Compare the same test, with “Windows Phone”…..it’s not stacking up to “Droid”, “Google”, “iPhone” or “Apple”.

I know, I know, Joshua Topolsky and the whole entire world who didn’t fall for buying a “focus s” are a bunch of bias (sorry Nilay) chumps who get weekly cheques from Apple and Google to verbally destroy Nokia and Microsoft ;-)

I’m not at all sure where you got your iPad rant from, but it’s not difficult to see the buzz is in mobile these days, which are otherwise and often termed “post PC devices”, meaning smartphones that you rely on, tablets which you often use in place of legacy computing devices.

Surely youve noticed the big stories of the past five years are not about “the hot new graphics card from 3Dfx” or “the kickass new sound card from Creative” – even Intel, Chipzilla as Ms Stern would Burn, they cannot get much buzz for a new CPU, even after decimating the competition for decades.

Microsoft is in the Intel position, oh, they have it all, essentially 100% of the market and it’s never going to lessen……just it’s a dying market, and they have no future products that compete with the past years in ARM powered Android/iOS.

Perhaps you have an HTC Surround or something with its little “boombox” design, how cute! Either my Galaxy Nexus or iPhone 4 would slaughter any non Apple/Google OS phone on the market – and they’ve been doing just that for five years now.

WP7 is a couple years old, same crap specs, same one percent of marketshare, still no apps, and still it’s name is a joke, like saying “Zune”, it gets a laugh.

It took all that time to finally get a flagship in the Lumia 900……..and that hunk of junk is just a larger 800, with LTE and a front facing camera…..which was just an N9 running Microsofts little OS……

And that wonderful flagship won’t even get Oh Noes Phone 8….if it ever does show it’s face amongst ICS and iOS competition holding down the entire market.
