I don’t have to be vague. Companies don’t create the majority of their software to run on linux and I’m not talking about server software. I prefer openoffice to MS office, I don’t care about web browsers much, and I definitely don’t care about any other mainstream software. The fact is that most software is developed on Windows and then an alt might be created for *nix. Why would a company invest so much money in something that limits their choices in the future?

Beyond all of that, you cannot even quantify the amount of money it would cost for a company, especially a large enterprise, to train employees and wait for them to become as productive as if they were using something they were used to. You’re insane if you think that people would just pick it up and use it like any windows software just because there are alternatives.
