I was having a hard time trying to put my finger on it too, but I guess his hypothesis is to find time to do more meaningful things like read good literary works and write the ‘great american sci-fi novel’.
Of course I don’t find the rationale behind him telling pointless(may be interesting to a small niche) conversation to justify this experiment. I thought it was already established that his leaving the internet was to avoid the glance-and-go behavior and be more involved in doing things.
