Earlier this week we got a quick look at Motorola’s upcoming Moto G when a reference to the unannounced device showed up on the company's site before quickly vanishing. Now, GSM Arena is posting a list of purported specs to go with the images we saw on Tuesday, giving us a better idea what to expect from Motorola’s latest.
According to a retail promo card, the new phone will have a 4.5-inch 720p display and quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm processor, which happens to counter Evleaks’s claim of a 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro inside the device. The Moto G is reported to run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean (no KitKat at launch, apparently), have 8GB of storage, and come equipped with a 5-megapixel camera and Bluetooth 4.0. Motorola’s slip-up on Tuesday confirmed rumors that the Moto G would have Moto X-style customizability, as well. It doesn’t give you the number of choices offered by its predecessor, but you are able to choose front, back, and accent colors to personalize your phone.
Perhaps most interestingly, GSM Arena writes that the Moto G is likely to sell for £134.95 (about $215) off contract, while Evleaks writes that it will be free on contract in the US — $99.99 less than the superior Moto X. There’s still no news on a release date for the Moto G, but we’ll let you know as soon as we hear anything.
