Tim Cook urges Apple employees to reflect on Steve Jobs nearly two years after his death

Tomorrow will mark two years since Apple founder and CEO Steve Jobs died at the age of 56 from complications relating to his long battle with pancreatic cancer. And while Apple and current CEO Tim Cook haven't yet made any public remembrances, 9to5Mac has obtained a copy of a message from Cook to Apple's employees commemorating Jobs' legacy.

Tomorrow marks the second anniversary of Steve’s death. I hope everyone will reflect on what he meant to all of us and to the world. Steve was an amazing human being and left the world a better place. I think of him often and find enormous strength in memories of his friendship, vision and leadership. He left behind a company that only he could have built and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple. We will continue to honor his memory by dedicating ourselves to the work he loved so much. There is no higher tribute to his memory. I know that he would be proud of all of you.

It's a similar message to what Cook shared last year on Apple's homepage — a note honoring Jobs alongside a tribute video containing many of the Apple founder's greatest hits. And while the company's stock has taken a hit in the last year, Apple is still pulling in healthy profits (though they're dropping a bit from 2012 as well) and is still touting record-breaking iPhone sales — just like it did when Jobs was at the helm. There haven't been any public tributes posted to Apple's site yet, but it wouldn't surprise us to see its homepage change tomorrow on the anniversary of Jobs' death.
