Acer announces budget 7-inch Jelly Bean tablet, just $150

Acer Iconia B1-A71

Acer has announced a new seven-inch Android Jelly Bean tablet with one big compelling feature (a sub-$150 price tag) and one worrisome omission (no official release date). The Iconia B1-A71 slate will carry 8GB of memory, a 1.2 GHz Mediatek processor, and a 1024 x 600 7-inch touchscreen. All this matches the underwhelming GLBenchmark tests and FCC approval that leaked in December. Still, there's two ways to differentiate yourself in a crowded space, on price or on features, and Acer's going for the former, marketing the budget tablet to kids, families, and other users looking for an entry-level device on the cheap.
