CES 2013
Goal Zero today introduced its latest portable solar generator, the Yeti 150. Weighing in at 12 pounds, the plug-and-play energy source is described as ideal for camping excursions and emergency preparedness. The Yeti 150 gets its name from the integrated 150 watt hour battery, which includes built-in AC, 12V and USB ports that should cover all of your vital devices. Goal Zero is claiming the unit can be fully charged in approximately 15 hours when hooked up to the included solar panel. Charging can also be done through a car adapter and traditional wall outlet. As Superstorm Sandy and other disasters have shown, having a reliable power source on hand can prove invaluable during emergency conditions, though you'll have to decide if that peace of mind justifies the Yeti's $399.95 price.
