You won't be buying a ticket for several years, but Marvel president Kevin Feige has all but confirmed that development is underway on a Doctor Strange movie. "He’s a great, original character," Feige told MTV during a recent interview. "He’s totally different from anything we’ve done before, as is Ant-Man, which keeps us excited." Ant-Man is set to lead off what's being referred to as Phase Three of Marvel's Cinematic Universe; the film will be released after an upcoming sequel to 2012 blockbuster The Avengers. Unfortunately Feige didn't have much else to say regarding Doctor Strange, though that's of little surprise considering how young the project is.
Iron Man 3 hits theaters in May, and Feige hints that Tony Stark's next adventure will begin laying the groundwork for the second Avengers film. "There’s certainly a road that’s being paved," the executive said. "You just might not notice it." Marvel's president has already had an opportunity to review Joss Whedon's initial outline for the eagerly-anticipated sequel. In his own words, fans can expect “seven things in there that are worth the price of admission alone.” Could a seventh Avenger be joining the team? We're sure to find out as the movie's 2015 release inches closer.
