Alleged BlackBerry 10 images show the next version of BBM

N4BB BlackBerry 10 BlackBerry Messenger

Yesterday N4BB revealed what appeared to be new specs for two upcoming BlackBerry phones, and today the site has what it claims are images of the BlackBarry 10 version of BlackBerry Messenger. Based on the images, which supposedly come from internal RIM slides, BBM appears to be very similar whether it's running on an all-touch or keyboard-based device. There isn't much in the way of details, though it does appear that the new BBM will let users customize the visual theme, with certain color options allowing for improved battery life. According to one of the purported internal slides, these theme tweaks combined with additional optimization techniques for the OLED display could decrease battery consumption by up to 75 percent. Of course, the new BBM and the rest of BlackBerry 10 isn't expected to be available until later this year, though when it does launch the first device will be all-touch.
