Play this: 'Snakes on a Cartesian Plane'

Snakes on a Cartesian Plane

There's no doubting that "Snake" will have a soft spot in our hearts for a long time, but it is 2012, and if we're going to keep on playing it maybe we should trying mixing things up a little bit. That's what game creator netgrind decided to do in his new Flash game, "Snakes on a Cartesian Plane." Despite the stale reference, the game mixes up the dot-eating cellphone classic 28 times. One version sees you drop an obstacle each time you eat a dot, another will shoot you out your tail in the opposite direction each time you grow, and some more limit which directions you can turn. It's quite the adventure — especially if you try to reach the developer's high scores, which seem to taunt you the whole time.
