Watch this: the trailer for Alex Winter's Napster documentary 'Downloaded'

Sean Parker "Downloaded" screencap

Before being bounced around from parent company to parent company, Napster was the company — and service — at the heart of a file-sharing movement that changed the face of music forever. Now director and actor Alex Winter — yes, the same Alex Winter that joined forces with Keanu Reeves in the Bill & Ted films — has made a documentary on the subject called Downloaded. The trailer for the film reveals a number of musicians and tech industry figures weighing in on Napster's history, from Sean Parker and Shawn Fanning, to David Bowie and Michael Diamond. There's no firm release date for the film just yet, but check out the trailer below to get a taste of what's to come.
