'Star Trek Into Darkness' trailer finally hits the web

star trek into darkness poster

A trailer for JJ Abrams' Star Trek Into Darkness has just hit YouTube. Menacingly narrated by Sherlock's Benedict Cumberbatch as (possibly) the infamous Khan, the trailer depicts a number of the Starfleet crew in distress along with the customary hype music. A longer version (complete with Japanese subtitles) ends with a nod to Wrath of Khan that might just be the worst spoiler to feature in an announcement trailer ever — or perhaps it's just JJ Abrams toying with us. We've included both below.

If these trailers have only whetted your appetite, the first nine minutes of the movie will premiere ahead of IMAX showings of The Hobbit, and this handy list can tell you which theaters will be playing it near you.
