American fans of acclaimed science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke will finally be able to get his material in digital form thanks to a new deal with independent e-book publisher RosettaBooks. The New York Times reports that the collection includes 35 titles priced at $8.99 each. And according to a press release, the books will be available on Kindle, Kobo, Nook, and iBooks (we're seeing them in the latter two already), and will feature the author’s most famous novels including 2001: A Space Odyssey and its sequels. The comprehensive The Collected Stories of Arthur C. Clarke will also be available, as will all of his other short story volumes. RosettaBooks says that the works were originally published by over 50 imprints, and sorting out all the licensing and royalties could be why it's taken so long for them to make the jump to digital.
