Nokia CEO says 'we are planning a lot of exciting things with Verizon'

When Nokia announced the Lumia 920 was to be an AT&T exclusive back in October, the move confused many. Although other carriers were handed variants of the Lumia 820 — the 822 on Verizon and the 810 on T-Mobile — only AT&T customers would be able to get their hands on a truly compelling, flagship Windows Phone 8 device from Nokia. Conversely, both Verizon and AT&T users can purchase HTC's flagship Windows Phone 8X handset. According to Nokia CEO Stephen Elop, that could change soon. Speaking with CNET, Elop said that he is pleased that Nokia has restarted its "relationship with Verizon," adding that the Finnish manufacturer is "planning a lot of exciting things with Verizon as well."

When pressed by CNET as to whether that meant a flagship device was on its way to America's largest carrier, Elop coyly repeated "we are planning a lot of exciting things with Verizon as well." The full interview is an interesting read for any Nokia fan, as Elop discusses the company's current position in the market, its philosophy moving forward, and its recent move into the iOS maps field.
