Skateboarders have been taping their tricks with jury-rigged video setups since the advent of camcorders, but the producers of short and beautiful video Firefly took the next logical step: using a camera mounted to a hexacopter for sweeping overhead vistas. While it's not too hard to find a camera-equipped hobbyist helicopter, the quality here is excellent, as is the composition and location. Shot at night, Firefly plays up the science fictional potential of the empty streets and lone skateboarder, with a glowing ring on the board that's reminiscent of Tron. And Czech promotional company Samadhi Production, which shot Firefly, has also posted a making-of video, which is easily as impressive.
