Special 'Foucault's Pendulum' Vergecast with Ken Layne Thursday, November 8th, 1pm ET

via upload.wikimedia.org

In the fall of 2012, The Verge began to hear hermetic whisperings of a Book Club — something we'd never even discussed, much less attempted to implement. It was utter lunacy, of course, but we went along with it: what kind of books might such a "club" read? Would we cap off each month with an hour-long discussion of the hypothetical title in question, say Umberto Eco's Foucault's Pendulum? We had hardly finished the barest speculation when we found that Adi, Laura, and Ken Layne were set to conduct just such a session on Thursday, November 8th at 1pm ET.

Ken Layne writes and edits at The Awl, spent six years as editor of the Washington politics website Wonkette, and is the author of the novel Dignity. If you liked Foucault's Pendulum, he's here to further elucidate its mysteries; if you hated Foucault's Pendulum, we promise a rousing session of catharsis. Adi and Laura were as surprised as anyone to find that the Book Club was real, but they quickly read up. We'd love to have you join us later this week, and for you to ask your questions below.
