CBS films has chosen Scott Derrickson, director of Sinister, to helm the film adaptation of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, according to Deadline. C. Robert Gargill — who co-wrote Sinister with Derrickson and, more recently, was interviewed by The Verge — will be handling the film's script. The futuristic and highly stylized game from publisher Square Enix follows former SWAT commander Adam Jensen after being retrofitted with cybernetic augmentations. In regards to the world created by developer Eidos, Derrickson explained:

"Deus Ex is a phenomenal cyberpunk game with soul and intelligence. By combining amazing action and tension with big, philosophical ideas, Deus Ex is smart, ballsy, and will make one hell of a movie. Cargill and I can’t wait to bring it to the big screen."

As pointed out by Polygon, Deus Ex: Human Revolution is only one of Eidos' games currently making its way to theaters. Lionsgate is working on a Kane & Lynch: Dead Men movie, with Bruce Willis and Jaime Foxx attached to star as the lead characters at one time.
